This saturday
Curtain call a amatuer theatre troupe performed
Agatha Christi's famous play
Witness to Prosecution at
Rangashankara.
It is the story of a man Leonard Vole who murders a wealthy widow Emily French after winning her affection and 'will' written in his favour, but gets away with murder thanks to a cunningly spectacular plot thats kept a secret till the end. The famed lawyer Sir Wilfred who defends him himself wont be aware of it!. At the end the lawyer thinks he was the one who got Lenord out, but he would be remarkably wrong!. At the end Lenord betrays the only person who got him away and pays a hefty price for it.

The beauty of this play just as in other Agatha Christi's plays is that the essence of the entire story is known only in the last 5-10 minutes thanks to a suspense filled twist right at the end. This is followed by another fatal twist that brings the curtains down.
Audiance's eyes and senses were simply glued at the stage for more than two hours of suspense, thrill and light humour. Performance was exceptional though all actors were amatuers. Direction by
Bhaskar and settings/lights by reknowed filmmaker and theatre personality
M.S. Satyu were incredible. Overall a great play with amazingly crafted suspense and a great saturday evening outing at Rangashankara.
